Spring Rolls Pan Asian Zensation

It was one of my friends’ birthday and we went out to celebrate. Spring Rolls all you can eat dinner menu has dim sum, sushi, soup, salad, and Thai cuisine. If we want special dish or dessert, it cost $3 more. I only took 5 pictures. I forgot to snap more pictures because I was so hungry and busy chatting with them. My favourite dish was crispy battered tiger shrimp (2nd pic).

We got her strawberry shortcake from Loblaws.

Spice Avenue

My friends and I arrived late afternoon. It wasn’t busy and the servers were slow. We waited about 10 minutes just to get our drink and 20 minutes for a waitress to take down our orders. We were not too impressed. Anyway, I love their urban chic interior designed! They serve Vietnamese and Thai cuisines. It didn't taste 100% authentic. I ordered Beef Pad Thai and it came with a free starter dish. I wanted tom yum soup but the server gave me mango salad instead. They messed up but I don’t care. The salad looks more delish! If you want 100% authentic food, you can find it elsewhere for a cheaper price. This restaurant is overpriced but great atmosphere.

CHAKO Barbecue Sushi Izakaya

I think CHAKO is WAAAY better than Korean Grill House. This place is so spacious and I like their interior designed! The staffs are quick and friendly. My bf and I went there on a weekend after 10:30pm. They have a late night special that cost $12.99 CAD (all you can eat). Too bad, it doesn’t come with sushi! :( It comes with ice-cream so, I’m satisfied with that.

Destiny Tea House

This is one of the best places to hang out with family or friends. They have assorted drinks, dessert and Asian cuisine. It’s a little overpriced. I like their interior designed, spacious place and there’s free wi-fi.
What did I order?
Fresh Fruit – Strawberry Milk with aloe $6.99
My bf got Mango milk tea with jelly and it cost almost $6. He wanted his drink to be cold but it turned out to be warm. I blamed the tea. Sorry guys, there’s no picture of his drink because he didn’t want me to take pictures.
The staffs were polite and we got our drinks really fast! I would definitely go back to check out their other drinks and food. Their cakes look delicious!

- Haiku Shimmering Body Powder
They have 6 different body powders! I read the reviews before selecting one. Most customers love this light shimmer and refreshing scent. I love it too! It smells like spring! Too bad, it doesn’t come with a body powder puff.
- Skin So Soft Fresh & Smooth Hair Minimizing roll-on anti-perspirant deodorant 50 ml

La Paloma Gelateria & Café

My bf had been telling about this place that sells the best gelato and we finally went there tonight! I invited my big sis to come too because I know how much she loves gelato! They have so many different flavours! You are allowed to ask for samples. All of us ordered small cups. I thought it was kind of little but it actually satisfied me. They gave us like 2 scoops that filled over the top! I would certainly come back again! :)
Price: $4.20+tax each
Total after tax: $14.24 CAD

- Cherry (It tastes sweet and sour)

- Vanilla with chocolate chips

- Orange (It reminds me of Crush soda. Surprisingly, my bf could smell this sitting diagonally from my big sis. I couldn't smell it!)

Little SaiGon Restaurant

Last Saturday, my bf and I went to this Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese Cuisine. They have lovely wall murals but the floor tiles felt very slippery for my running shoes. It wasn’t just me! My bf felt it too. Ha-ha. I was amazed by their variety of foods on the menu. I felt like ordering a little bit of everything but we wouldn’t be able to finish it. We got mild spice beef pad Thai, spring rolls and 2 bowls of pho (sry, I only took 2 pics). The pho noodles were thick and hard. I let it soak in the hot bowl for few minutes. Spring rolls’ rice papers were a little hard too. I don’t know what it was but the beef balls or sweet sauce tasted odd. My bf said it was fine. Also, the pad Thai didn't taste authentic. We think they used pho noodles to make it (Vietnamese style). Even Thai express taste so much better than them! :P Anyway, the waitress/boss seems nice and prices are decent. We spent about $30 after tax and tips.

Wok of Fame

This spacious buffet restaurant opened last year in Brampton, Ontario. They serve Western and Oriental food. I already ate there twice before. Their prices are quite expensive. Especially on the weekend and holidays, it cost more. I love how they have live cooking station. You just pick out whatever you like and give it to the chef to cook it in front of you. You can get your own drink from the soda fountain machine or in a mini fridge that have water and juice bottles. If you want to order other drinks, they will charge you. Also at a certain time, the pianist comes onto the stage and play soft melody music. They even have kids’ room for them to play!

What food did I enjoy eating?
-          Sushi
-          Waffle with ice-cream

Live cooking station
-          Steak
-          Mussels
-          Shrimps
-          Salmon
-          Noodles, vegetables and meats

I only love the fresh food!

*Sorry for the poor quality pictures. I didn’t want to take picture in front of everyone and I turned off the flash.*

Don Don Izakaya

My friends and I had been talking about this Japanese restaurant for 2 months. They were still renovating in January and we couldn’t wait to go try their food! Last Thursday, we finally went there and it was somewhat disappointing. When we entered into the restaurant, the lady did quick drum beats. They gave us 2 things that we didn’t order and it wasn’t even busy. Some of the foods on the menu look really simple and easy to make. The food that we ordered tasted kind of bad and alright. The staff didn’t seem like they were 100% energetic. Guu Izakaya’s and Guu SakaBar’s staffs were so much more energetic than them. They would shout on top of their lungs and the atmospheres were so alive! I think Guu SakaBar was the best one. I would definitely eat there again. Anyway, my friends and I would still like to check out Don Don Izakaya’s lunch menu. Hopefully, it would be so much better. I love the interior design and spacious place.
What did we order?
- Chicken and Japanese Plum Salad $7.90
The chicken was dried and plum sauce tasted weird.
- Sashimi Salmon $10.50
- Soy Milk Tofu $3.50 (my friend didn’t like the texture of the tofu)
- Japanese Style Vege Hamburg Steak $6.20 (this plate didn’t look like the menu’s picture)
- Seafood Udon $7.60
- Green tea Mousse $4.20
- Black croquettes with ketchup $7
********************************
(My big sis didn’t take picture of these food)
- Hoppeta-Yaki – chicken +potato +otafuku sauce $8.50
- Beef Bowl $5.20
Beef tasted dried and my friend added soy sauce to make it better. Lol.
- Seafood Dorea $6.80
Mini mussels were dried and the rice was salty.
*I didn't try everything that were on the table.*

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter Review + Swatch

Originally, I wanted to buy Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm but I heard how amazing the Revlon Lip Butter was. I just gotta try it out! I’ve always wanted a nude lipstick but I don’t like to wear lipstick because my lips get dry easily. So, this lip butter is perfect for me! I chose Creamsicle color. It’s light, peachy and shimmery. Next time, I would like to buy Creme Brulee and one of the light pink colors.
Pros
- Texture is smooth
- You can see through the cap
- The color almost looks exactly like the cap’s color
- No expiration date
- Packaged in a clear plastic bag
- Available in 20 shades
Cons
- Hard to pull off the cap
- Feel a little sticky (I would have to exfoliate my lips before applying it on)
- When you are closing it down, it smeared off a bit on the side.
- Hydration and color doesn’t last long
Wal-Mart Price: $7.97
After HST: $9 CAD

Anniversary & Family Day Meals

I told my bf that I would cook for our Anniversary Day (we celebrated early). I made sushi for lunch. My mom helped me with the oven-barbecued chicken wings and shrimps cocktail for dinner. I wanted to grill the shrimps but my mom said pan frying is faster so, I went along with her idea. I bought the shrimp cocktail sauce on the side and it tastes sour. My brother didn’t like it.
Sushi ingredients: nori, short grain rice, onigiri seasoning, beef, masago and cucumber
Chicken wings: marinated with salt, pepper and fish sauce
I used this sauce recipe that I found online at http://www.canadianliving.com/food/oven_barbecued_wings.php (tastes like tomato sauce).

boiled broccoli, pan fried beef and peppers dishes

My Valentine’s Day

My bf and I celebrated Valentine’s Day early at Yamato Japanese restaurant. He always wanted to try there because the master chef cooks in front of you. He didn’t do amazing tricks except for the flaming onion. I like their soup and spicy salmon sushi.  It sucks that we had to sit with strangers at the same table. I was hoping to get our own table and chef. Overall, it was a wonderful experienced. I only took a picture of my Tori dinner.

What did we order?
-         Spicy Salmon Roll
-         Pops
-         Teppanyaki Dinners: accompanied with Japanese clear onion soup, green salad with house dressing, grilled vegetables, and steamed rice.
The waitress would ask if you want steamed rice or fried rice. If you choose fried rice, it cost $5 more.
TORI: tender boneless chicken dark meat glazed with teriyaki sauce
BEEF ROLL: thinly sliced prime ribeye beef, wrapped with fried garlic and green onion, prepared at your grill table

Total after HST + tips: $94. 52

I made a card, chocolate chip cookies and marble cupcakes for him.

Yesterday, he came over to my house and surprised me with fresh dozen roses! ^_^ It comes with water tubes and flower food to make these last longer.
